"Sacred Space" by John Sayers
Within the circumference of your arms a perfect world forms, a sacred space.
My Dearest Friend,
A mother and daughter, a father and son, a husband and wife, two siblings, two dear friends, ourselves and our creator. This brief poem is about the simplicity, clarity, and peacefulness that can be found within the embrace of one we love.
In the rough-hewn life we make
Furrowed, scratched, and scarred,
Doubt and uncertainty surround.
Though fine we try to make the lines
A thousand gravities pull our hands.
But within the circumference of your arms
A perfect world forms, a sacred space--
Lines run true, shapes smooth, all indications clear.
Love always,
John S.
